Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac invested in Wrexham four years ago, becoming owners of the club and beginning a journey that has brought the club to new heights both on the pitch and off it.
The attention the club has received is now worldwide, and their journey to the Championship has been documented through the Disney+ series ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
However, their success has seen many other clubs across the footballing world get investment from celebrities and former sports stars.
As Eva Longoria joined the ownership of a Mexican club, Tom Brady is a part owner in Birmingham City, and Swansea City has received investment from Luka Modric and Snoop Dogg.
Now another pair of footballing legends have decided to invest in an English football team, after Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac did with Wrexham.

The new owners of Bristol City Women are proud of their acquisition of the club; however, according to Goal.com, both legends will play a significant part in the club moving forward.
Victoire Cogevina Reynal, co-founder of Mercury13, said: “Yes, absolutely (they will attend some matches). They’re incredible footballers, but they’re also incredible human beings who truly believe in what we’re building. They’ve been very helpful behind the scenes for Como, and I’m sure they will do the same for Bristol City.”
There is a belief from Mercury13 that they can make Bristol City Women one of the biggest teams in England through their ownership.
Mario Malavé, co-founder and co-CEO of Mercury13, told the club website: “Bristol City Women represents everything we look for in a club: a rich history, a track record of performance, world-class infrastructure, and incredibly loyal supporters.
“Our entry into the English football pyramid is a major milestone for Mercury13, and one we approach with deep respect and responsibility. We’re honoured by the Lansdown family’s trust and are committed to building something special alongside the Bristol community.”
