A former Wrexham manager has agreed with the statement that Cardiff City is bigger than Wrexham.
Wrexham secured promotion from League One last season and will now play in the Championship for the first time.
As for Cardiff City, they have suffered relegation to the third tier, so will not face the Dragons in 2025/26 unless it’s in the cup.
Wrexham were linked to several Cardiff players this summer, but none of those transfers have so far come off.
It’s the first time in many years that Phil Parkinson’s team have been above their Welsh rivals in the EFL, but one ex-manager still agrees the Bluebirds are bigger.

Former Wrexham manager on Cardiff being bigger than Wrexham
Wrexham have spent over four decades playing below the second tier of English football.
Cardiff, meanwhile, have had stints in the Premier League and were an established Championship team.
Now, speaking on talkSPORT, Alan Brazil discussed the two teams alongside Neil Warnock and former Wrexham boss Dean Saunders.
Brazil said: “But Cardiff is much bigger than Wrexham.”
Warnock responded: “Absolutely,” while Saunders went on to say: “Well, Cardiff is the capital of Wales, obviously, and it’s got massive support and Neil’s been the manager there.
“If somebody bought Cardiff, if somebody came to me and said ‘shall I buy Cardiff?’ I’d go, yeah, if you get it at the right price, that club can go all the way up.”
Warnock then added: “It’s a fabulous club and the fans [are] unbelievable.”

When did Dean Saunders manage Wrexham
New Wrexham fans brought in via the Welcome to Wrexham documentary may not be aware of who Saunders is and his links to their club.
The 61-year-old became manager in October 2008, taking over from Brian Little.
Saunders took Wrexham to the play-off finals in the 2010/11 campaign, but lost out to Luton Town in the semi-finals.
He then left the Racecourse Ground in September 2011, stepping up to the Championship with Doncaster Rovers.
