Following promotion to the Championship, Wrexham fans all wanted one man to be rewarded with a statue outside the Racecourse Ground.
Wrexham have achieved promotion to the Championship at the first time of asking. That makes it back-to-back-to-back promotions for Phil Parkinson’s side, who sealed their feat after beating Charlton 3-0 at home.
After such a comprehensive victory against a high-flying Charlton Athletic, the pandemonium spilled out onto the pitch as fans celebrated the promotion to the Championship.
Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sent a message to Parkinson following his achievement to get the side promoted, and now fans have sent their praise over to the coach, with many suggesting one thing that he deserves after such a monumentous achievement.

To achieve three promotions back-to-back with any club is an incredible achievement, and one that Parkinson certainly deserves praise for conducting, no matter how much financial backing he had from co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney.
As a result of the promotion, Wrexham fans quickly took to X to celebrate the achievement, issuing words of praise towards the gaffer for the significant part he played.
One fan suggested that the club should ‘get that statue built [for the] history maker’, and another fan agreed, saying that it should be done ‘first thing tomorrow’.
Another supporter said: “What a squad resilience and hunger is unbelievable!! As for Parky! What a man! Fool for ever doubting or questioning him. Knows exactly what he’s doing and how to get every last bit out of this team! Build the statue.”
The phrase ‘build the statue’ was so common amongst fans following the game, it is clear that an overwhelmingly large majority of people around the club want to see Parkinson rewarded for his efforts.
Phil Parkinson won’t have too long to celebrate as Championship preparations take priority
Wrexham fans have certainly become accustomed to promotions in recent years, and before fans get ahead of themselves, the 2025/26 Championship season will be an entirely different kettle of fish.
The difficulty of rising through the Championship will be a difficult task for Wrexham and Parkinson since they will have to compete with sides coming down from the Premier League.
All of a sudden, Wrexham will not find themselves with significant advantages in regards to finances, meaning that simply consolidating their place in the league next year will be more than good progress for Parkinson’s side to aim for.
