What Humphrey Ker has learned from Ryan Reynolds at Wrexham
Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘High Performance’ podcast, Wrexham’s Community Director Ker has revealed what he has learned most from working alongside Reynolds.
Ker stated: “I would say, he [Reynolds] knows when to trust people, both him and Rob [McElhenney] are very good at that and an example on the football side of us is that they have never ever sought to interfere with signing players or matchday tactics.
“They have always been very good at staying away but then knowing when to deploy themselves in a useful way.”
James McClean revealed McElhenney’s speech to the Wrexham squad ahead of a recent crunch clash with Blackpool and the owners have struck the right balance in their involvement with the team.

Ker also revealed an insight into what happened when the Wrexham owners first went to a match after taking over the club.
The Red Dragons took on Maidenhead United back in the National League and Ker recalls Reynolds and McElhenney seeing the funny side of the home fans’ chants when they arrived in the ground.
Ker explained: “They got brought in through a side gate and because of all the cameras, it was a night game and there were lights filming them, immediately the eight-hundred Maidenhead fans were there,
“They were aware they [Reynolds and McElhenney] were there and they just started pelting them with abuse and they [Reynolds and McElhenney] loved it.”
Reynolds has agreed with McElhenney over the word ‘consolidation’ and both owners want the club to continue pushing forward in the years to come.
