Wrexham beat Peterborough United 1-0 on Saturday afternoon with Phil Parkinson continuing to push for another promotion.
Wrexham started 2025 with a defeat, losing 2-1 away at Barnsley in yet another loss on the road.
Phil Parkinson’s home record is just exceptional though and Wrexham enjoyed another STōK Cae Ras victory on Saturday.
Steven Fletcher popped up with the winning goal, heading home Ollie Rathbone’s cross to secure all three points.
Fletcher has praised Wrexham’s winning spirit with the Scot now scoring three late winners in a row at home.
Wrexham now head into a break due to two postponements and are in a strong position, sitting third in the League One table.

Peterborough United chairman on Wrexham defeat
Wrexham now don’t play again until Thursday, January 16 with Parkinson taking his side to face Shrewsbury Town.
That’s why Saturday’s win was so huge, sending Wrexham into this break on a high.
Parkinson has hailed his Wrexham players for their focus and commitment to grabbing all three points.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has now given his view on the game having seen the Posh fall to defeat.
MacAnthony has hinted at Wrexham signing Lewis Brunt ahead of Peterborough but has also opened up on his doubts heading into the game.
Speaking on Up The Poshcast, MacAnthony noted that he didn’t feel confident heading into Saturday’s game against Wrexham.
MacAnthony has gone into games against now-Premier League clubs and never felt downbeat before the game.
That wasn’t the case on Saturday though, joking that the feeling was as if Peterborough were about to play Real Madrid.
MacAnthony praised Wrexham’s position in the table but wants to get rid of the feeling that the Posh can’t compete.
“I hate not feeling confident going up against anyone, particularly in League One,” said MacAnthony.
“I hate that horrible feeling in my stomach where it’s like ‘can we win this game?’, almost feeling like we’re playing Real Madrid or something, I hate feeling like that.
“Fair play to Wrexham, we know all about them, we know how good they are, we know how high they are in the table, but we’ve played Leicester, we’ve played Southampton, we’ve played Brighton, we’ve played Leeds at this level and I never had a pit in my stomach playing those teams – I always felt we had a fighting chance.
“Last year, we went to Derby and took it to them so I hated that feeling, I want to get rid of that feeling,” he added.
Big games on the horizon for Wrexham
Peterborough are an established League One side who are usually around the play-off places.
This season has been a struggle for Peterborough and former Wrexham ace Darren Ferguson but they are still serious operators at this level.
Wrexham have now completed the double over the Posh – and haven’t even conceded a goal against them.
The hope is that Wrexham can continue to win big games, starting with next week’s clash against Shrewsbury.
Wrexham also have a home game against Birmingham City coming up, so there are some enormous games after this break.
Wrexham may not be Real Madrid but Parkinson has created a team which knows how to win games right at the death – and that will be a daunting task for many League One sides.
