Wrexham know that three points are a must in their League One clash with Burton Albion as the promotion pressure cranks up.

Phil Parkinson’s side welcome some familiar faces to the Racecourse Ground as former stars Anthony Forde and James Jones could line up for Burton Albion.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could haunt Wrexham as the Icelandic striker was also allowed to depart for Burton in January and has already scored four goals for his new club.

Forde praised the Wrexham owners on his departure from the club but there will be no pleasantries on the pitch as both sides are desperate for the three points at opposite ends of the table.

Elliot Lee scored ‘olympic’ goal against Burton

Wrexham defeated Burton 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in December 2024 thanks to an incredible ‘olympic’ goal from midfielder Elliot Lee.

Lee scored direct from a corner in the 65th minute to give the Red Dragons a crucial win on the road, which at the time was only their third away win of the season.

Burton have won two out of their last three games in League One and are fighting for their survival down the bottom end of the division.

Parkinson will know his side face another tough challenge in their quest for promotion but with Wycombe facing a tough trip to Reading, three points could open up an advantage in the race.

Lee struggling for Wrexham starts under Phil Parkinson

Having made 34 appearances in the league this season and scoring seven goals in the process, Lee has only started one of the last 12 under Parkinson.

Lee was involved in an accident and has struggled for form and fitness since the incident but could yet prove to play a pivotal role from now until the end of the season.

His recent substitute appearances have mainly been to provide fresh legs in midfield to help see out a game but he has already proven this season he can make an impact in an attacking sense from the bench.

Lee’s last minute winner against Crawley was an example of this, whilst he found himself unmarked 12 yards out in the last minute against Cambridge but blazed his shot over the bar.
