Wrexham are preparing for EFL Trophy action against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night but will celebrate ‘Andy Cannon Day’ first.
Wrexham picked up a huge away win on Saturday afternoon, beating Burton Albion 1-0 on the road.
After three straight wins at home, Wrexham backed it up away from the STōK Cae Ras with a big win at the Pirelli Stadium.
Elliot Lee’s winner came straight from a corner as Storm Darragh worked in Wrexham’s favour.
Burton’s Udoka Godwin-Malife cursed the ‘freakish’ goal but Wrexham fans praised Lee as he bagged the winner.

Wrexham celebrate ‘Andy Cannon Day’
The attention now turns away from League One action and over to the EFL Trophy as Wrexham host Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night.
This Monday has been dedicated to Andy Cannon though as the midfielder brings up two years as a Wrexham player.
Wrexham’s official X account has dubbed Monday as ‘Andy Cannon Day’, paying tribute to the midfielder.
Cannon joined Wrexham from Hull City on December 9, 2022 having previously been on loan at Stockport County.
Cannon has now racked up 10 goals and six assists in 76 games for Wrexham and continues to make an impact in League One.
The 28-year-old has become a firm fan favourite – and James McClean’s best friend – since arriving at the STōK Cae Ras.
McClean likened Cannon to Kevin De Bruyne earlier this year and long may his success at Wrexham continue.
Looking back at Andy Cannon’s arrival
We took a look back at how Cannon and Phil Parkinson reacted after securing the move back in 2022.
As quoted by BBC Sport, Cannon admitted being ‘over the moon’ to join Wrexham and highlighted the atmosphere around the club.
Cannon pointed to ‘everything going on’ at Wrexham with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds having huge plans for the future.
Cannon also told Wrexham what to expect from his playing style – and he has certainly lived up to his claims.
“I’m over the moon. We’ve been talking for a few weeks and so to finally get it done… I’m really looking forward to getting going,” said Cannon.
“Everything that’s going on here… it’s a positive place to be around. I played here last season, and saw the atmosphere and I can’t wait to get going to be a part of it.
“I like to be on the ball, I like to drive forward from time to time, but hopefully just keep everything calm in the middle, get on the ball, push the team up the pitch and show my quality,” he added.
Boss Parkinson celebrated signing a ‘quality player’ in Cannon, believing that he could replace Jordan Davies in the Wrexham engine room.
Davies is now on loan at Grimsby Town with Cannon continuing to play a strong role in the Wrexham side.
“He is a quality player. We’re always looking to improve the squad, and coupling that with Jordan Davies’ injury it was an important deal,” said Parkinson.
“He’s a player with EFL experience, and he’s a good age to come in and grow with the club,” he added.
This deal has worked out well for all and with Cannon signing a new contract in 2024, there should be even more to come.
