Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are looking to bring success to another club after taking Wrexham to dizzying new heights.
The actors have transformed a club that was stuck in the National League for 15 years into one of the most well-known sides on the planet.
Wrexham’s latest valuation put them at £350m, and Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are eyeing more investment in order to improve the club even further.
It’s not just the Red Dragons that are benefiting from the duo’s dive into the footballing world, however.

Welcome to Wrexham-inspired documentary details
McElhenney and Reynolds invested in Club Necaxa in April 2024, joining a host of other famous faces.
Former Arsenal man Mesut Ozil and Kate Upton are among the other investors at Necaxa.
Meanwhile, it was reported at the time that actress Eva Longoria was key to bringing McElhenney and Reynolds on board.
Now, the Hollywood Reporter has shared details of Necaxa’s new project, which will feature the Wrexham owners.
They report that the club are releasing a spinoff of Welcome to Wrexham, which will follow Necaxa.
A release date for the show has been confirmed, first airing on August 7 at 9pm ET/PT in the US.
Like Welcome to Wrexham, the show will be available to watch for fans in the US on Hulu and Disney+.
The report also says that McElhenney and Reynolds have been enlisted to help by Longoria.

What Rob McElhenney has said about Necaxa
Just like Wrexham, McElhenney is looking to improve Necaxa and have them compete at the top of their division.
Speaking about the club in May, Rob shared why he invested in them along with Ryan.
He also highlighted the similarities between them and Wrexham.
McElhenney said: “I just wanted to go and be a part of a Latin experience, and so Necaxa was just a club there, for us, that had the same ethos and feeling of a Wrexham.
“Where the system is a little bit different down there, but there are five teams that compete at the top and then everybody else is fighting for six and below.
“They even have an expression where they’ll say well ‘the teams in our league, the teams in our league’ and you’re like ‘wait I thought you guys are on the same league?’ and they say ‘well sorry we are, we’re in the same division, but we don’t consider ourselves in the same league as them’, which is —— up because those top five six teams are so over capitalised and the teams from sixth to 24th they can’t compete, so they don’t even bother. They try, but it just becomes so impossible.
“The idea is to suggest that we belong there, that’s me as the emotional journey that you’re shining the spotlight on people and say, you thought that there are this class of people or this class of team or this community or town that is out of your league, and we are here to say, hopefully put up a mirror in front of them in that light I was talking about and say, you belong, you belong in that league. They’re no better than you, they’re not stronger than you.
“They might just have a little bit more money, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t compete and be in that league.”
