Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are looking to secure fresh investment to strengthen Wrexham now that they have won promotion to the Championship.
Wrexham cost Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney just £2m back in February 2021.
Several promotions later, the Red Dragons have seen their value skyrocket, with new investment found late last year.
The Allyn family are worth over £1billion and came on board alongside the North American actors in 2024.
However, Reynolds and McElhenney want to sell a stake in Wrexham, with a valuation of £350m suggested last month.
After that news emerged, Turki Al-Sheikh investing in the Red Dragons was discussed by a financial expert.
Al-Sheikh is a Saudi Arabian businessman who has already been linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall this summer, and we have now taken a look at what he’s been up to since a potential Wrexham investment was mooted.

Turki Al-Sheikh ventures in WWE and Boxing
Al-Sheikh is the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, meaning he is heavily involved in the country’s sport.
On this front, Saudi Arabia recently welcomed the US-based WWE for their latest Premium Live Event.
WWE’s Night of Champions took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on June 28 and featured stars like John Cena and Cody Rhodes.
During their trip to Saudi Arabia, Triple H thanked Al-Sheikh for a gift, writing: “Symbol of Strength, Honor, and Partnership. 1 of 200. Crafted and lined in 24 carat gold. This handcrafted falcon statue is more than just a gift, it is a tribute to a shared journey of excellence, friendship, partnership, and the powerful cultural bridge we continue to build together. In Saudi culture, the falcon represents vision, courage, and prestige. Thank you for the honor @Turki_alalshikh and the @GEA_SA.”
Al-Sheikh is heavily involved in the boxing world as well and announced future plans last week, as quoted by Ring Magazine.
He said: “We are talking with our friends to do cards in November and I hope to have Ortiz against Boots, Bakole against Itauma, Zepeda against [Andy] Cruz, if I have the chance, Mbilli against Lester Martinez. If they accept and the promoter accepts we want to do it in one night in November.
“And in December we have ‘The Monster,’ the real monster. 27 of December we have Inoue. We are thinking now we are close to finish Inoue against [Alan] Picasso as main event and all the card will be built as big fights, the biggest fights between Japan and Mexico.
“Then we have the second fight if everything goes right in February for Canelo…it is going to be against one of the two options Sheeraz or Eubank.”
Turki Al-Sheikh linked with Wrexham Championship rivals
Al-Sheikh’s net worth is believed to be over £2billion, so it’s easy to see why he’s been touted to invest in the EFL.
Away from Wrexham, it has been reported that the Saudi billionaire has looked into purchasing Bristol City.
He is already the owner of Spanish outfit Almeria and, as mentioned previously, has been linked with several Championship teams this year.
Bristol City reached the Championship play-offs in 2024/25 before losing to Sheffield United in the semi-finals.
