Mark Howard fires shots at Ollie Palmer after Burton Albion victory, Wrexham striker responds

Wrexham see off yet another League One side, this time in the form of Burton Albion – who they defeated 1-0 in crazy conditions.

As Storm Darragh threatened to call off the Burton clash, Wrexham will ultimately be glad it was there – as the wind definitely provided the assist for Elliot Lee’s ludicrous corner goal.

Lee’s strike which Wrexham fans loved was the difference on the day, and was of the utmost importance, as this now sees the Red Dragons sit level on points with Wycombe Wanderers at the top of the table.

Wrexham had some good performances on Saturday, including Mark Howard, who was calm and assured between the sticks – which led to a clean sheet.

There was nothing clean about his comments to Wrexham forward Ollie Palmer after the game, however – with the shot-stopper having a pop at the forward’s hair.

It’s no stranger to anyone that Palmer is getting on a bit – but now it’s showing in his appearance, with the prolific goal-scorer sporting the silver fox look up top this season.

Something, that has been noted, by Howard – and evidently something that winds Palmer up.

After the Burton victory, he took to Instagram to post a picture of him and Palmer, accompanied with the caption, ‘they sell just for men over there’.

In our opinion, Palmer’s rocking it – and further instates that he’s ageing like a fine wine, on and off the pitch.

Palmer responds to Howard’s remarks

Palmer bit back at the 38-year-old, with the response ‘think you took all their product buddy’ accompanied with a lot of laughing emojis.

This was then described as a ‘nibble’ by Howard. But it was evidently done in good jest between the Wrexham pair.

This light-hearted banter epitomises the feel-good nature around The Racecourse at the moment. As long as the wins keep coming, keep the mick-taking up!
