Wrexham parted ways with Mark Howard as their Championship squad rebuild begins.
Howard’s Wrexham departure sparked a period of farewells for the club as team mates Steven Fletcher and Jordan Davies were also released.
Rob McElhenney sent a message to Howard upon his Wrexham exit sharing his admiration and gratitude for the commitment shown to the Red Dragons over the last few seasons.
Howard was part of the squad that earned promotion from the National League and featured 58 times under Phil Parkinson, the goalkeeper has now lifted the lid on the Wrexham owners.

Mark Howard reveals what Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney do after every Wrexham match
Speaking on talkSPORT 2’s ‘The Social’, Howard has revealed that Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney would often text players about their performance after every Wrexham match.
Howard stated: “As people they’re always available, they’re always at the end of a phone via text, phone call anything, I mean if you have a good game they’re the first ones to text you and if you have a bad game they’re the first ones to text.”
The owners have created a culture of trust and positivity around the club and Howard was full of praise for the time they have spent in North Wales so far.
Howard explained: “They’re just good people.”
What next for Mark Howard?
Humphrey Ker praised Howard for his reliability during his spell at the club and it appears that the goalkeeper is not finished yet.
Howard said: “I want to join something that is exciting and I want to be part of something again, I’ve had three promotions in a row but I’m desperate for another one.”
During his career that has seen him play for a number of clubs across England and Scotland, Howard has never let any side down and confirmed he has barely missed a training session this season.
At 38, clubs will view his experience as invaluable both on and off the pitch and it would be no surprise if a National League or League Two side snapped him up this summer.
