Wrexham and Birmingham City have formed a rivalry in the last year, but the clubs’ owners have been sharing their admiration for one another.
Wrexham missed out on the League One title to Birmingham City in 2024/25, finishing second with a club-high 92 points.
Birmingham smashed the League One transfer record last term, paying double figures for the signing of Jay Stansfield.
Wrexham broke transfer records of their own in the most recent season, including spending £2m on Sam Smith.
The Dragons’ spending paled in comparison, however, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s side are still set to be competing against Tom Brady’s club in 2025/26.

Ryan Reynolds’ message to Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner
Earlier in the season, Reynolds joked about Brady, outlining what he ‘hated’ about the former NFL star.
However, he’s now been sharing his love for the Birmingham man in a message to the club’s chairman and owner, Tom Wagner.
Wagner has praised Wrexham this week and also bought Brady’s gift to McElhenney back, promising to donate the funds to the Wrexham AFC foundation.
The gift in question was a Birmingham shirt with Rob’s name on the back that was given to him ahead of the Blues’ 3-1 win in 2024.
Now, taking to his Instagram story, Reynolds has told Wagner that he wants to buy the shirt.
He said: “Wagner, I want the jersey. This video stays between us, it’s to be seen by nobody but you.
“But I really want that jersey. I’m a huge Tom Brady fan, and I have been for a long time. He touched the jersey so now I want the jersey that he touched. If you could just name your price, I’ll pay it and then get a strand of his hair just for me, for no reason, just for fun.

What Tom Brady has said about Wrexham
The last meeting between the two sides played out at the Racecourse Ground, ending in a 1-1 stalemate.
Earlier in the campaign, Birmingham beat Wrexham 3-1 at St Andrew’s, and Brady sent a message to McElhenney prior to that fixture.
In which he jokingly asked Rob to educate Wrexham fans, saying: “So I’ve been working on a little response video to Eli and I’m looking around the house, but I can’t find the other six of these,” joked Brady.
“Rob, can you just educate the Wrexham fans just a little bit on the history of the NFL? Thanks bud, appreciate you, see you Monday,
