Wrexham spent a lot on new players over the summer, and Max Cleworth has now spoken about Phil Parkinson’s recruitment.

Wrexham drew 1-1 with Derby County on Saturday afternoon, meaning their search for a home win goes on.

The Red Dragons went into the match as favourites but were undone by a brilliant effort from Ben Brereton Diaz.

Issa Kabore impressed Wrexham fans after he notched his third assist in two games for the Welsh outfit.

Kabore is one of the 13 new players signed by Phil Parkinson over the summer, and Max Cleworth has now discussed the new additions.

Max Cleworth on Phil Parkinson’s recruitment

Wrexham spent £33m in the summer transfer window to essentially sign a new-look eleven.

However, Cleworth has been with the club since before Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s takeover, and has been able to keep his place in the side.

The centre-back started in the Derby draw and spoke to the club’s media post-match.

When doing so, he commented on the players Parkinson has recruited this summer, giving a positive verdict.

He said: “With the gaffer, he only seems to recruit good people. So you know all the new lads that have come in have settled in really quickly. It just takes time to adapt on the pitch.

“In terms of the changing room, it’s a great changing room. All the lads have got on really well, there’s no bad lads in there at all. Everyone’s a decent person, but on the pitch it will take time.”

Will Wrexham sign more players in January

Wrexham broke their transfer record multiple times in the summer window, but further additions could arrive in the winter.

If they wish, the Red Dragons could quite easily spend £10m in January without having to worry about any PSR issues.

On that front, it’s become clear that Wrexham could do with another big centre-forward to compete with Kieffer Moore.

Moore was injured against Derby. He does not look set to be out for a prolonged period, but it remains to be seen if he will feature against Leicester City on Tuesday.
