Wrexham are starting to believe that they can make it three successive promotions after they closed the gap on Wycombe to just two points.
Wrexham fans were delighted to see Sam Smith score as the striker got off the mark for the Red Dragons with a trademark strike across the keeper after showing blistering pace to get free of the Northampton defence.
Attentions now turn to Leyton Orient and Phil Parkinson says his squad are ‘prepared’ for battle amid a heavy fixture schedule in the coming weeks.
League One promotion is the aim for Wrexham and Parkinson will need to keep picking up wins as the team have been in recent weeks. However, for Chief Executive Michael Williamson, it is not just results on the pitch that has impressed him about Wrexham’s manager.

Michael Williamson highlights Phil Parkinson’s man-management as his greatest skill
As per The Leader, Williamson has been speaking about the pressures that come with working for the club amid the high-profile nature of Wrexham’s owners.
Williamson stated: “It’s not easy being a manager. Everyone can criticise the losses and week in, week out, you have to deliver.”
The Chief Executive then went on to highlight the most impressive aspect he has seen whilst working with Parkinson.
Williamson explained: “What’s been really enjoyable with Phil is to see how he manages a dressing room of 24-25 men that come from different backgrounds and have different ages.
“All of them think that they should be starting and all of them believe they’re the best at what they do and that’s great because you want that confidence and you want that mentality. But it also means managing all of them because at the end of the day, you’re only able to have 11 on the pitch.”
Williamson a big part of improving Wrexham on and off the pitch
It is a daunting task being chief executive of a club with huge ambitions such as Wrexham but Williamson is matching that ambition with his plans on and off the pitch for the club.
Williamson outlined Wrexham plans to match the San Siro as the Racecourse Ground is set for a new pitch that is in line with some of the best stadiums in Europe.

Parkinson is being supported in the transfer market after the January acquisitions of Smith and Jay Rodriguez have sparked a run of four wins on the bounce.
Williamson has also outlined plans for a new training facility as he highlighted the importance of being able to attract better quality players with better quality facilities for the club.
