Wrexham can now truly head into the international break after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 in the EFL Trophy.
Saturday’s 4-1 home win over Northampton Town was a real morale-booster for Wrexham.
After one win in four games, Wrexham turned on the style and produced a fine performance against the Cobblers.
The International break is now here but Wrexham still had one more fixture on Tuesday night.
The EFL Trophy took centre stage with Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-21’s visiting the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham produced a strong display, winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Lewis Brunt, Paul Mullin and Modou Faal.

Modou Faal sends message to Wrexham’s Jacob Mendy
Phil Parkinson named a much-changed team, making 11 changes from the side which beat Northampton over the weekend.
Striker Faal was one of those to come into the side as he looks to really kickstart his Wrexham career.
Snapped up from West Bromwich Albion on deadline day, Faal has yet to feature in League One for Wrexham.
The striker is a project for Wrexham but he showed a glimpse of his quality with a stunning bicycle kick to make it 3-0 against Wolves Under-21’s.
Faal was named Man of the Match and spoke about his Wrexham teammate Jacob Mendy.
Mendy has been called up by The Gambia for this international break, the nation of Faal’s birth.
Speaking on Wrexham Match Day Live, Faal noted that he hopes to see The Gambia pick up positive results in a double-header against Madagascar in Morocco.
Faal added that Mendy was ‘excited all week’ ahead of jetting out to Africa, wishing him well as he cheers on his home country from afar.
“I hope we win and get a couple of wins,” said Faal.
“Congratulations to Mendy for getting another call-up, I know he’ll be buzzing with that. He was excited all week following up to his departure when he went to Morocco.
“I wish him well, I wish the team well because I’m Gambian aren’t I, so I want them to do very well and hopefully we can win some games,” he added.
Faal will hope for his own call-up
Mendy earned his Gambian call-up off the back of his Wrexham displays.
The left wing back even claimed that he doubts he would have been called up if he wasn’t at Wrexham.
The exposure of the club certainly helps and Faal will hope to follow in his footsteps.
Faal hails from The Gambia but his family relocated when he was just seven years old.
The 21-year-old striker has yet to pick up a cap for The Gambia but he will be hoping to catch the eye soon.
Tuesday’s acrobatic goal was a great start for Faal and there is a real possibility that we see him and Mendy in action for The Gambia together down the line.
