Issa Kabore made a huge impact on his Wrexham debut as he produced not one, but two assists against Norwich City.

Wrexham returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, coming from behind to beat Norwich City 3-2.

Jack Stacey’s opener put Norwich in front, but Phil Parkinson’s side rallied after the half-time break.

Josh Windass found the net twice for Wrexham, finding the net either side of Ryan Longman’s strike.

Norwich grabbed a goal back through Jovon Makama late on, but that wasn’t enough to prevent a fantastic Wrexham victory.

Issa Kabore shows immediate quality for Wrexham

Nothing beats an away win, and Wrexham fans have savoured a couple of brilliant wins on the road.

Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 before the international break and have now seen off Norwich as well, two games which would have been seen as tricky trips.

So many Wrexham players stood up to the task on Saturday afternoon, but wing-back Issa Kabore really showed what he is all about.

Wrexham signed Kabore on deadline day, but the Manchester City loanee headed straight out on international duty with Burkina Faso.

Kabore was an unused substitute against QPR last weekend, but came into the starting XI against Norwich – and that proved to be a great decision by Parkinson.

Kabore’s pace brings something new to the Wrexham side, and Ben Sheaf utilised that pace to perfection by playing him in behind the Norwich defence.

It’s one thing to have the speed to get into that position, but it’s another to pick out the pass.

Kabore could hardly miss an unmarked Windass inside the penalty area, but it was still a quality ball into the box for Windass to score.

One assist wasn’t enough, as Kabore added a second to make it 2-1 to Wrexham.

Kabore was released down the right flank, and as Kieffer Moore and Lewis O’Brien waited inside the box, the wing-back found Ryan Longman completely unmarked.

Another fantastic pick-out, and another fine goal as Wrexham saw the wing-back to wing-back connection pay off.

This was about as good as debuts get, and Kabore has not only announced himself as a major threat for Wrexham moving forward, but also showed why Parkinson made the move to sign him.

Phil Parkinson didn’t rest on his laurels at right wing-back

On paper, Ryan Barnett and Ryan Longman are decent enough options at right wing-back.

Barnett was outstanding in the first half of last season and racked up assists for fun, while January signing Longman has shown his quality on both flanks at Championship level.

Parkinson still felt that he needed to improve on his right wing-back options, and did so by landing Kabore on loan.

The Burkina Faso ace suffered a couple of disappointing loan spells last season, struggling for first-team action with Benfica and Werder Bremen.

Wrexham took a chance on Kabore, and Saturday’s two-assist display provided a perfect snapshot of what he can deliver moving forward.

Consistency is the key for Kabore after some up-and-down loan moves, but it’s hard not to feel excited after he put Norwich to the sword.
