Fresh off the back of their Ben Sheaf capture, Wrexham have confirmed the addition of another player on deadline day.

Going into September 1, Wrexham had signed 10 players during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Nathan Broadhead is the club’s new record signing following an initial £7.5m move from Ipswich Town, which could rise to £10m.

The likes of Josh Windass, Callum Doyle and Kieffer Moore have arrived with plenty of Championship experience under their belt and have now been joined by two more players on deadline day.

Wrexham sign Issa Kabore from Manchester City

It was reported on Monday morning that Wrexham were close to signing Issa Kabore on loan from Manchester City.

The Welsh powerhouse beat top-flight clubs from around Europe to land Kabore.

Now, after already confirming the addition of Sheaf from Coventry City in a £6.5m deal, Wrexham have announced that the Man City right-back has joined on loan.

An official statement on the club’s website read: “Wrexham AFC are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Burkina Faso international Issa Kaboré from Manchester City, until the end of the 2025/26 season.

“Kaboré, 24, has been capped 49 times by his country – scoring twice – including being named Young Player of the Tournament after claiming three assists as The Peregrine Falcons reached the semi-finals of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

“After signing for Manchester City in 2020, he has spent time out on loan with Mechelen in Belgium, Troyes and Marseilles in France, Luton Town in the Premier League in 2023/24, Benfica in Portugal and Werder Bremen in Bundesliga.

“He has made 137 Club appearances across his career, and now becomes the 12th new addition to the Wrexham squad in this summer transfer window.”

Wrexham stars may lose spot after Issa Kabore arrival

Kabore has been praised by Pep Guardiola previously and has plenty of experience around Europe.

He is a natural right-back who has impressed in the right-wing-back role, where he will likely play for Wrexham.

At present, Ryan Longman and Ryan Barnett have been competing for a starting berth in that position.

Kabore’s arrival will probably mean one or both of those players will see fewer minutes moving forward.

Longman can operate off the left of Parkinson’s back-five, but that would then mean Liberato Cacace or James McClean would end up playing less.
