Wrexham could get one over their Welsh rivals this summer and sign one of their best players for absolutely nothing.

Wrexham have several transfer targets ahead of the summer transfer window opening in June and Phil Parkinson is looking to sign some experienced Championship players.

And we’ve seen players from both Cardiff City and now Swansea City linked. Wrexham are interested in Callum Robinson at Cardiff following their relegation to League One.

Also, Harry Darling is linked with Wrexham. The Swansea City centre-back is out of contract this summer and stalling on signing a new deal.

What’s the situation with Harry Darling at Swansea City?

Swansea City signed Darling from MK Dons in a £1million deal in 2022. He’s since made 108 Championship appearances for the Swans, scoring 12 and assisting six more from centre-back.

Wrexham’s Welsh rivals have been trying to get Darling onto a new deal all season. Currently, Darling has a contract offer on the table from Swansea but he’s considering other options before signing an extension.

It’s allowed Wrexham to step into the race to sign the 25-year-old, along with Birmingham City.

Swansea City fans are all saying the same thing about Harry Darling

Many Swans fans are annoyed about the whole situation. One fan said: “As much as I love him, if he don’t want it let him go. Simple,” and another added: “I love Harry Darling and he’s a top Championship player but nobody is bigger than the club.”

Another comment read: “I’d give him one maybe two weeks then if not accepted pull the contract offer. Clearly if he’s waiting he isn’t as committed to us as some would suggest.”

“Personally, think we should walk away now,” said this Swansea fan. “We’ve given him our best offer. So he’s obviously waiting for another big offer elsewhere.”

This similar comment also read: “He might think he holds all the cards but if he hasn’t signed within seven days then withdraw the contract and sign someone else.”
