Wrexham have been told that Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have helped the Red Dragons gain the power over Swansea City in one key aspect.

Following Wrexham’s tour Down Under, the Red Dragons have heavily recruited as they prepare for the 2025/26 Championship season.

The Red Dragons had already signed Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward prior to the pre-season tour, and now Wrexham have acquired Liberato Cacace – a New Zealand international with vast Serie A experience.

Josh Windass has also joined following his Sheffield Wednesday departure, whilst Wrexham have also signed Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest.

Following the deal to bring O’Brien to the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham have been told that they have gained the power in Welsh football by one expert, taking the reins from Swansea City.

Wrexham told that Lewis O’Brien signing ‘shows where the power is in Welsh football’

Wrexham were facing vast competition as they looked to sign Lewis O’Brien this summer, with Swansea City also a notable club that were keen to re-sign the midfielder.

O’Brien spent half of last season on loan at Swansea City, where he thrived immensely – making him a top target for the Swans as a result.

However, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have managed to show their ambition this summer by moving ahead of their Welsh foes to bring in the Forest man.

After the deal was completed, Welsh football journalist and expert Phil Blanche said: “Swansea wanted him, Wrexham got him.

“Lewis O’Brien’s three-year Wrexham deal shows where the power is in Welsh football right now.

“Wrexham’s Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are not messing about.”

Wrexham’s upward trajectory is feared by Championship clubs

In the early days of the summer transfer window, it looked as though Wrexham were being left in the dust by fellow League One promoted sides Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, who were notching more signings than the Red Dragons.

However, Wrexham have snapped back with several top-tier additions to the side, where they haven’t spent recklessly, but rather cunningly by acquiring Championship quality and experience.

Wrexham’s transfer business in recent days hasn’t just sent ripples to their Welsh counterparts, but every club in the Championship. Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have created a team that will be feared next season, and hopefully, they can continue to add to Phil Parkinson’s ranks before the campaign gets underway.
