Wrexham co-owner Rob Mac recently changed his name from Rob McElhenney.
Wrexham co-owner Rob Mac often cited difficulty with people not being able to properly pronounce his name or properly spell it either.
And it got to the point that McElhenney changed his second name to Mac, announcing so in a social media post during the summer.
It seems to have stuck since then. But nobody really knew if it was official or it was purely for social media, or some kind of PR stunt perhaps.
But it seems as though the change is official.

Wrexham confirm Rob Mac’s name change
A document uploaded on Companies House for Wrexham AFC Limited on 30th September has confirmed a ‘change of individual person with significant control’, with the person in question being Mac.
But of course, the person isn’t changing, simply the name, as the document states. The date of change is down as August 20th but the document wasn’t received for filing until September 29th.
It simply states the ‘new name’ of said person with significant control is Rob Mac, no longer Robert McElhenney.

Wrexham’s amazing journey under Rob Mac – how much is the club worth now?
Initially, it was just Mac who wanted to buy the club. But Mac brought in Ryan Reynolds as Wrexham co-owner because of his business brain, and the pair have worked wonders since.
In fact, since the pair bought the club in 2021, Wrexham’s club value has increased by over 7,000% to an estimated £150million.
It’s a staggering figure, especially when we compare it to some of the country’s big guns like Manchester United.
A recent report revealed how Man United have grown 400% over the last 20 years, and whilst they’re on a completely different scale to Wrexham, it shows just how much the Dragons have built in such a short space of time.
Mac is certainly one of the masterminds behind it.
