Wrexham produced a dramatic late comeback as they progressed into the second round of the EFL Cup.
Phil Parkinson named eleven changes to the side that lost to Southampton on the opening day of the Championship season and his side looked set to record back-to-back defeats.
Hull City were 3-1 up and cruising before super sub Ollie Palmer scored two headers in stoppage time to send the game to penalties.
Jack Marriott fired home the winning penalty to give the Red Dragons a 5-3 victory in the shoot-out, however the real hero of the night was Palmer and he achieved something rare with his performance.

Ollie Palmer scores first Wrexham brace since 2023
Wrexham fans were delighted for Palmer and given the injuries to Kieffer Moore and Jay Rodriguez, the forward may just have played his way into the squad for the clash with West Brom.
His two goals were trademark headers, the first one he had to generate the power from James McClean’s wonderful delivery.
The second was put on a plate for him by Ryan Barnett and Palmer obliged by guiding the ball past Dillon Phillips and sending the Racecourse Ground into raptures.
The incredible moments were actually Palmer’s first brace for the club since scoring two away at Dagenham and Redbridge in March 2023.
The 33-year-old was on the scoresheet twice alongside Jordan Tunnicliffe and Jacob Mendy in a convincing 4-0 victory.
With his side crashing out the EFL Cup at the first hurdle for the second consecutive season, there was no better time than to repeat his efforts.

With those injuries to Moore and Rodriguez, Parkinson now has a decision to make before the end of the transfer window.
Parkinson had told Palmer to leave Wrexham and the striker was even spotted watching his former side AFC Wimbledon the previous weekend.
However, he has shown that he still has the ability to come on and make an impact in games and it may be that Parkinson decides to keep the forward until January at least to cover for absentees.
Palmer was congratulated by his teammates for his heroics against Hull City and has spoken on numerous occasions about his desire to stay and contribute to the Wrexham cause in any way he can.
