It’s been a mixed 2024/25 campaign for Wrexham striker Paul Mullin, to say the least.
Sitting on over 100 goals, Paul Mullin is the Red Dragons’ highest-scoring player in history.
His free transfer from Cambridge United will go down as one of the greatest bits of business conducted under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
2024/25 just hasn’t been his campaign, however. The centre-forward missed pre-season due to injury but with over half the year gone, fans probably expected him to have found form by now.
Mullin’s decline at Wrexham compared to the 2023/24 season is very concerning, with his goals needed now more than ever in what has been a fairly lackluster attack for large periods this term – especially away from home.

Opposition fans hit out as Wrexham striker Paul Mullin wins League One award
At present, the 30-year-old has managed to find the back of the net on just two occasions in League One this season.
Mullin was praised by Reynolds following a thunderous strike against Blackpool on Boxing Day.
He’s now been awarded the League One Goal of the Month for said effort but has also received a fair bit of stick from opposition fans amid that news and his latest performance in Wrexham’s defeat to Shrewsbury Town on Thursday evening.
One fan wrote in response to him winning Goal of the Month: “One of two he’s scored this season. I see he’s found his level – a 4th division striker.”
A second added: “It’s the only goal he has scored this season,” while a third stated: “Nobody cares you lost to Shrewsbury.”
Another opposition fan wrote: “Paul Mullin is not League One quality. Perhaps he never was.”
“He looked woeful last night,” another support claimed, while a sixth reminisced: “Just remembered that time someone said we should sign Paul Mullin and burst out laughing.”

Wrexham striker woes continue
Mullin may have just picked up a well-deserved award but that doesn’t change the fact Wrexham are in dire need of fresh legs up front.
They are seriously lagging behind their promotion rivals on the goal front, despite having five different strikers to pick from this season.
Wrexham are in the market for a striker but no move looks to be close at the time of writing.
