Paul Mullin has shared his hopes for Wrexham ahead of their campaign getting underway next week.

Paul Mullin has now departed Wrexham, at least for the next year, after four successful seasons with the club.

The striker signed on a free, scored over 100 goals and played a key role in the club winning promotion to League One.

However, Phil Parkinson dropped Mullin at the end of January 2025 after signing Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith.

The 30-year-old featured in one EFL Trophy fixture in February but had no role in the promotion run-in.

Paul Mullin on Wrexham in the Championship

Despite being left out of the squad, it’s clear Mullin remains a big fan of the club and wishes them nothing but the best.

Wrexham play Southampton to kick off their opening match of 2025/26 on August 9.

Now, as per Leader Live, Mullin has discussed his time with the Dragons and says he wants to see them challenging at the top end of the Championship.

He said: “I never want to see the club go anywhere but upwards and I hope even more success comes their way.

“I will always be grateful for what the club gave me and I will always be a fan of the club, it has become a massive part of my life and always will be.

“Hopefully the good times that we started can continue and I look forward to hopefully seeing them challenging at the top end of the table next season.”

Paul Mullin wanted one more game at Wrexham

Wigan Athletic signed Mullin in June, and his campaign gets underway on August 2.

The Latics face Northampton Town in a 3pm BST fixture, and the Red Dragons loanee is expected to feature.

Before his transfer, though, Mullin outlined his Wrexham wish of playing just one game in the second tier with the club.

He said during the latest season of Welcome to Wrexham: “Just to play one game in the Championship at Wrexham would be worth absolutely everything, be the icing on the cake for this story, who knows where it could end.

“I’ve enjoyed absolutely every minute here.”
