Wrexham have made history by securing promotion to the Championship.
Wrexham’s 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic ensured automatic promotion from League One and the Red Dragons became the first side in English football to secure three successive promotions.
Ollie Rathbone got the party started with an emphatic strike following a short corner routine before Sam Smith doubled the lead just minutes later.
Max Cleworth’s wonderful cross was diverted home by Smith again via a deflection and put the crown on an unbelievable evening for the Red Dragons.
Paul Mullin was in attendance at the Racecourse Ground after being left out the matchday squad and has sent a message to the Wrexham Squad following their sensational performance.

Speaking to Sky Sports during their post match coverage of Wrexham’s victory over Charlton Athletic, Mullin had a special message for the players and the fans.
The striker was told be a fan ‘this is because of you’ and then expressed his pride and happiness at the club’s third successive promotion.
Mullin stated: “It’s lovely for someone to say that but it’s not just because of me, it has been a real team effort. I signed here four seasons ago now and when I did Rob McElhenney told me the plan to get to the Championship within five years
“We’ve done it a year early and the team this year have been unbelievable, it has been some journey and I think look at these fans, they f—— deserve it, sorry for the language but they deserve it.”

Mullin’s future at Wrexham may be unclear but there is no denying his loyalty and love for the club after spending four sensational seasons in North Wales.
After the game, he stated: “The question I got asked when I signed here was why Wrexham? Why Wrexham? Well here you go here’s your answer, third time in a row.”

Mullin reflected on National League promotion recently but can now enjoy a third consecutive celebration with his team mates.
Whatever the future holds for the 30-year-old he has played a huge part in the club’s rise and it is recognised by everyone at Wrexham.
