Wrexham boss, Phil Parkinson has admitted that there could be some outgoings in the January transfer window.
It has been a great season for Wrexham so far which has seen them rise up to third in League Two at the time of writing.
Coming up from the National League to now challenge at the top end this season has been superb work by Phil Parkinson.
With the positive start to the season, the Reds will look to maintain this great form towards the run-in of the campaign.
This has seen rumours of incoming transfers which have excited fans. From Jonson Clarke Harris to Ronan Hale, there have been forward options touted.
There needs to be some changes at the club before new players can come in such are the registration rules. Parkinson has opened up about this fact this week.
Parkinson on January departures
The Reds have taken advantage of their squad so far this season with plenty of stars getting game time in League Two.
With that being said, there are some players who have made limited appearances and played very few games.
Players like Callum McFazdean are yet to play in the league so far this season having only made cup appearances.
With that being said, Parkinson has now suggested to Leader Live that players will be let go this month due to interest coming in.
On that, he said: “There has been some interest in players who have been out of the picture so we are looking at a few of those situations.
“There are players who have been on the periphery a little bit who are attracting a bit of interest and we are in discussions with one or two clubs.”
Although he might not want to let anyone go and disrupt his squad, players may want to go and get more minutes. There are rules that have to be considered before new signings can be signed this month.
On that, Parkinson added: “I imagine that some players will be leaving the club, the 22-man squad rule dictates that. We are just reviewing where we are with our injured players and seeing when they are coming back but obviously, we are looking at options.”
It is safe to say that there are questions being asked in the transfer market by Wrexham. Outgoings have to be done before any signings it seems.
The season has gone well so far and as long as no first-team stars leave and some additional quality comes in, that will only continue.
