Phil Parkinson on Wrexham’s Las Vegas trip
Parkinson certainly won’t want any nasty surprises ahead of Wrexham’s pre-season preparations.
Wrexham are heading to Australia and New Zealand this summer, with Parkinson looking for everybody to be in top shape come July.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Parkinson feels that the trip to Vegas is ‘amazing’ for his players, noting that McElhenney and Reynolds promised another party at the start of the season.
Parkinson thinks the trip serves as something of a ‘target’ for the Wrexham squad alongside gunning for promotion.
Parkinson added that he will now turn his phone off and completely tune out from Wrexham’s trip, simply hoping to hear that his players have made it home safe.
“They deserve the trip,” said Parkinson. “To create history, and the owners said at the start of the season that they’d go again.
“That’s a good target as well during the season, not just getting promotion and what it means to everybody. Having that group together next week [in Vegas] will be amazing.
“I’ll be turning my phone off. I just want a message when they’re all back in the country in one piece and that’s all I need to know,” he added.
Parkinson steps away from these trips in order to let the players truly unwind, with the Wrexham squad now ready to celebrate another brilliant season.
