Wrexham were linked with several high-profile Championship stars and centre backs during the summer transfer window, and they found their man in Dom Hyam, as they brought him from Blackburn Rovers on deadline day.
The Red Dragons had been linked to several as they looked to prepare for the Championship, and in order to do so, they wanted experience and quality from the division.
Wrexham eyed Craig Dawson, who had become a free agent after his contract with Wolves was up at the start of the transfer window.

However, there was one player who could have been making a reunion with James McClean at the club following their time with the Republic of Ireland; now it appears he is thinking of switching sports.
John Egan may return to Gaelic football upon his retirement
Wrexham had been linked to the transfer of Irish international John Egan during the summer, but the defender opted to remain at Hull City for the Championship campaign.
The 32-year-old has featured in six of Hull’s opening seven league fixtures, demonstrating his importance to the side; however, it has not been easy for him this season, as the Tigers sit 18th in the division, two places below Wrexham.
While he is focused on his current task at hand with Hull, he has spoken about potentially returning to Gaelic football once his time in his current profession comes to an end, speaking with the Irish Independent.

He said: “I want to stay in England for as long as I can, but if I am back in Cork some day, there might be a tug of war. My GAA club, Bishopstown, they are always wanting me to come back and play a few games for them in Gaelic.
“We’ll see; my focus now is on Hull City and playing here. Bishopstown were my club before I went to England; you never know, maybe someday I might tog out in the maroon.
“It’s no secret how much I love Gaelic football and hurling; it’s probably one of the biggest things I’ve missed since moving to England, playing GAA. We’re a big GAA family, and I’d like to think I can play one day.”
Phil Parkinson is a huge fan of John Egan
Early in his footballing career, John Egan was a player for Phil Parkinson while he was in charge of Bradford City.
The current Wrexham boss brought the defender to the Bantams on loan from Sunderland in 2012, where he would make four league appearances.
In this short time Parkinson was impressed by the now 32-year-old, as he spoke highly about the youngster at the time.

As reported by Sky Sports, he said: “I felt John did very well. It was a good debut for him.
“He looks a good player. He’s strong, decent on the ball and he’s confident in his own ability. I was certainly pleased with his start.”
