There has been a lot of talk and differing opinions on where Wrexham will end their 2025/26 season.

Wrexham shone yet again in 2025, making EFL history with a third successive promotion.

They will now compete in the second tier of English football for the first time since the 1980s this weekend.

Wrexham face Southampton in their debut Championship clash, and a lot of predictions have been made about the club going into the new campaign.

One supercomputer predicts the Dragons to finish 21st, just one place above the relegation zone.

However, an EFL pundit has now shared a more positive prediction and discussed Phil Parkinson’s future with the club.

Phil Parkinson Wrexham future

A couple of weeks ago, one pundit suggested that Wrexham sacking Parkinson in 2025/26 was possible.

Ryan Dilks said that Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds would part ways with the manager in order to get a ‘big name’ in for the documentary.

However, another EFL pundit, Benjamin Bloom, has also discussed the future of Parkinson and disagrees that he will be let go.

He said: “I know some people have got Phil Parkinson not surviving the season, Wrexham struggling sort of badly. I like the continuity of Parkinson going into next season, frankly.

“I still think there will be a bit more in the window there’s still another 25 days or 27 days or whatever is remaining of the transfer window, so we’ll know more when that’s all complete.”

Wrexham Championship league position predicted

Meanwhile, Bloom, unlike Opta’s supercomputer, has backed Wrexham to easily avoid the drop.

He predicts the Dragons will finish 12th in the second tier next term, which would be their highest-ever league position inside the EFL.

Bloom stated: “Ryan, Rob, Disney, all of that good stuff. I’ve got no idea what Wrexham are going to do. Obviously, if they were to get promoted, it would be National League, League Two, League One to Premier League in successive seasons.

“It would be the most astronomical rise in the history of the English football pyramid. I wonder whether that’s going to make things too difficult, even with the huge kind of infrastructure in the background and lots of money coming in commercially in terms of world-wide frankly sponsorship.

“I just wonder whether there’s too big a gap to bridge against a handful of the teams that I’m about to mention, well that’s eleven of them if I’ve got Wrexham 12th, but I’m a bit unsure I don’t see it being a big struggle.

Bloom continued: “So I’ll go for Wrexham to be in the top half. I know some people will stick them in their top six, fine each to your own. But I’ll hedge my bets and stick Wrexham in 12th.”

Paul Mullin has backed Wrexham for success in the Championship as well, sharing his hopeful prediction last week.
