Phil Parkinson revealed honest verdict on watching ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ series

‘Welcome to Wrexham’ is set for its fourth season on 15th May as the popular documentary series reveals exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the club’s latest adventure.

Speaking on the Men In Blazers YouTube channel upon released of the third series back in May 2024, Parkinson revealed whether or not he watches the show.

When asked whether he watches the show, Parkinson stated: “I haven’t watched any of this one at the moment because we’ve been away in Spain but yeah I’m sure I will, my family will watch it so they tell me all the good bits and the bad bits.

“I think like everybody, no one really enjoys watching themselves on tv so yeah when the time’s right me and my wife will watch it.”

The Red Dragons boss then went on to explain how the documentary series is a positive for the club and that it now seems like part of every day life for those at the club.

Parkinson explained: “I’m just so pleased it has been a success, that’s been the key because it has been a magical story really with all the drama which has gone on and it does feel at times like the script writers have written it out.

“It has just been very natural the way we’ve operated like I’ve probably said to you before, we just get on with it.”

Parkinson believes Wrexham have a ‘great chance’ of automatic promotion

Any thoughts and excitement about the documentary will be on hold for everyone associated with Wrexham AFC as the first of four huge games begins against Bristol Rovers.

As per the Leader, Parkinson remains confident in gaining automatic promotion and that is the target rather than having to endure the dreaded play-offs.

Parkinson stated: “We’ve got a great chance. It’s going to be tight and we know that. Wycombe have had a good week. Last Saturday, the shoe was on the other foot. We won and they’d got beat, but there’s always twists and turns.”

Wycombe have the tougher run in with both Bolton and Charlton still vying for the play offs and automatic promotion respectively but Wrexham know they have no easy task with their clashes.

With the gap now down to just one point, the Red Dragons can afford no more slip ups as they bid to create English Football League history and give the documentary another fairy tale climax.
