Wrexham fans are over the moon after their club sealed a third-straight promotion. But something has now upset a few of them.
Wrexham have secured promotion from League One at the first time of asking. Phil Parkinson’s side have now earned a historic three promotions-in-a-row and will play in the Championship next season.
Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney attended the game on Saturday. Wrexham thumped Charlton Athletic 3-0 to seal 2nd place and attentions will quickly turn to the summer ahead, and on building for the Championship.

Wrexham fans upset at no League One promotion parade this season
Before all the summer preparations begin, Wrexham have the small matter of properly celebrating their promotion. Saturday’s scenes were just a warm up.
The club has announced that fans can attend the Racecourse on Sunday to celebrate promotion for a £5 entry fee. But there’s no parade around the city. Unlike with previous seasons, celebrations will purely be at the stadium.
The news has upset a number of fans who wanted the parade. “If the fiver got donated to something, I could see this. Otherwise, parade,” said one Wrexham fan.
“Agree on the parade,” added another. Meanwhile, this fan posted: “This should have been a parade for three in a row. Plain and simple.”
This supporter wrote: “Should be a parade that is free so everyone can have access especially considering it’s an historic achievement.”
Some argue that a parade is only when winning the league or winning a cup. In response to that, this Wrexham fan added that the club is “parading football history, not a 2nd place trophy.”
“History warrants a parade,” said another supporter.

Plenty more good times to come for Wrexham fans
Whilst a parade would’ve been a nice day out for fans and families, it’s certainly not the be all end all. Fans still get a promotion party at the stadium.
And if the club’s momentum is anything to go by then there’ll be plenty more opportunities for promotion parades and such.
Next up is the Premier League and many are already dreaming of seeing the Dragons take on the English top flight, although it’s certainly going to be the club’s most difficult task yet. McElhenney has already spoken about the Premier League, suggesting ‘why not?’.
Wrexham finish their season away at Lincoln City on Saturday.
