Wrexham face another tough challenge in their League One promotion push as they travel to Huddersfield Town.
Wrexham currently sit just four points above Huddersfield in the League One standings but will be hoping to take advantage the dreadful home record of their opponents- Huddersfield haven’t scored in five games at home.
Phil Parkinson will know that his team will still need to be at their best to gain an all important three points and could hand a start to Jack Marriott in the Wrexham predicted XI.
Ryan Longman impressed Steve Parkin against Bolton with his energy and power down the right flank and will be looking for the same against Huddersfield. The Terriers in contrast, know the importance of the victory in their own promotion push.
Huddersfield expert seeks victory over ‘powerhouse’ Wrexham
Speaking on a preview show of Wrexham’s clash with Huddersfield Town on the Rob.Ryan.Red podcast, Huddersfield expert Kosi has spoken of the importance of being the Red Dragons.
Kosi stated: “Can we still get second? I won’t lie I don’t think I’ve closed the door on it but it’s the hope that kills you.”
The Huddersfield expert, who regularly hosts the Terriers ‘And he takes that chance’ podcast believes that Wrexham are a ‘powerhouse’ in the division and victory would be a real boost.
Kosi explained: “We’ve got to win Tuesday and I think it would feel a really big win for us because obviously we haven’t even scored a goal at home but we also haven’t knocked over a powerhouse and in the division I’m classing you [Wrexham] as that.”
Steve Parkin wary of Huddersfield threat
Speaking post-match following Wrexham’s 0-0 draw with Bolton, assistant manager Steve Parkin has identified the potential threat that Huddersfield pose.
Parkin stated: “Huddersfield are well organised, they will be strong physically and decent at set-plays. They’ve got a strong squad, they made some key signings in January. Although not probably in the form that they would like to be in, it’ll be another tough tough test for us.”
The Red Dragons were resolute in defence during the draw with Bolton at the Racecourse Ground and the likes of Eoghan O’Connell and Max Cleworth will need to be at their sharpest once again.
Wrexham could move into the automatic promotion places with a win and other results going their way however, defeat could see them dragged back into a play off tussle.
