Paul Mullin has enjoyed a prolific four years at Wrexham and is now being linked with a move away.
Wrexham signed Paul Mullin from Cambridge United back in the summer of 2021 on a free transfer.
Four years on, the now 30-year-old’s future at the Racecourse Ground has been cast into doubt.
A report over the weekend has said that Wrexham could let Mullin leave for free despite having another two years to run on his contract.
League One outfit Wigan Athletic are thought to be the club eyeing a transfer for the striker, who Rob McElhenney and Humphrey Ker previously discussed the signing of.

What Rob McElhenney and Humphrey Ker said about Paul Mullin Wrexham transfer
Back in the summer of 2021, McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds were gearing up for their first full season as Wrexham owners.
The Dragons were looking to capture Mullin on a free transfer after he’d just won promotion and finished as League Two’s top scorer.
Despite there being no transfer fee involved, a move for the Liverpool-born player was still expected to be expensive.
And in Season 1 Episode 3 of Welcome to Wrexham, Rob and Ker discussed the potential signing of the striker.
Rob: “Do you think he’s worth it?”
Ker: “If I were you, and I owned the football team, yes, I’d buy him.”
Rob: “Wow, you said that with conviction. I believe I heard you say, you would put your job on the line.
Ker: “At no point did I say that. Here’s what I’m saying: I’d happily spend your money on Paul Mullin.”
Rob: “I mean I got to talk to Ryan again but I think he’ll go for it knowing that you were willing to sign the contract that stated… that you get fired if Paul doesn’t. It might not be worth it.”
Ker: “It could be worth it.”

Wrexham broke their budget for Paul Mullin
In the end, a deal was completed and Mullin went on to finish as the club’s top goalscorer three seasons in a row.
His contribution in 2024/25 was a lot smaller, but he still scored a couple of key goals.
It was also shared in the same episode of Welcome to Wrexham that Shaun Harvey sent a Mullin warning to Reynolds and McElhenney, saying the club’s budget would go out the window with a deal.
He said: “There needs to be a little bit of expectation management. The top goalscorer in League Two should be going to the Championship or the top end of League One.
“Just be careful in how you set this up because Paul Mullin should be unachievable for Wrexham Football Club.
“It’s certainly going to be very, very difficult. He’ll take some persuading even if you threw everything at him, and if we do throw everything at him, the budgets that we’ve set will go completely out the window.”
