Wrexham’s players have seen their status and popularity grow in line with the club around the globe in recent years.
The ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series has seen the likes of Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer become household names in relation to the Red Dragons.
Phil Parkinson doesn’t like signing egos and a major part of his success at Wrexham is having the right characters within the dressing room in order to create that family atmosphere.
That transfer strategy will be no different this summer in preparation for the Championship and the team spirit created amongst the Wrexham squad has been highlighted by two former teammates launching a business venture together.

Elliot Lee and Anthony Forde launch football academy
Former teammates Elliot Lee and Anthony Forde have announced the launch of the Leeforde Academy aimed at developing grassroots footballers from the ages of 6-16.
The academy’s mission was outlined on Lee’s Instagram account and shows the former Wrexham star Forde joining up with Lee in order to drive the ‘next generation’.
The mission statement read: “Our mission? To develop the next generation (6-16 year olds) through top-level training, guidance, and a love for football. This is just the beginning. Let’s build something special.”
Michael Williamson has been improving Wrexham’s infrastructure and now the players are taking inspiration from the club by looking at the future of the game.
Giving young talent a pathway into football is vital in securing the future of the game and Lee and Forde are playing their part in giving back to the game that has served them so well.
What Rob McElhenney said about Anthony Forde upon leaving Wrexham
Forde was a big fan of Wrexham’s owners and sent a heartfelt message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney upon his move to Burton Albion mid-season.
The feeling was mutual and McElhenney was sad to see Forde leave the club, another player that found opportunities diminished under Parkinson as the club progressed through the leagues.
The player’s latest venture will surely have the backing of Reynolds and McElhenney and the duo have played a big part in Forde’s career.
With departures likely this summer, there will always be bonds and friendships that last a lifetime at the Racecourse Ground.
