Wrexham are finally set to play a game of football on Thursday, facing off with Shrewsbury Town.
The Red Dragons have been given an unscheduled 12-day break after their EFL Trophy meeting with Port Vale was postponed.
Wrexham were not in League One action over the weekend owing to Reading’s FA Cup commitments.
However, they were still able to maintain third place in the division and will climb above Wycombe Wanders if they secure at least a point on January 16th.
Wrexham haven’t been great on the road this season but Shrewsbury Town are in pretty dire form ahead of the clash.
They have won just one of their last five, sitting 22nd in the table with a dismal 17 points amassed from 24 matches.

Phil Parkinson provides Ryan Barnett, Elliot Lee and Lewis Brunt injury updates
Ahead of the game, Phil Parkinson has been speaking to the media and provided updates on some key players.
Ryan Barnett was an unexpected absentee in the club’s last league fixture, which saw them beat Peterborough United 1-0.
Barnett, Elliot Lee and Lewis Brunt were all injured for Wrexham in that match – a big blow considering how crucial the trio have been this season.
Now though, as per Leader Live, Parkinson has provided an update on Lee, Brunt and Barnett, confirming they are close to a return and if they don’t feature on Thursday, they should be fine to face Birmingham City next week.
He said: “Those three are getting closer. Obviously, they have been in having treatment and working to try and get them as close as possible to being available for if not this week then the following week.
“These two days are important days training for us and we’ll just assess everybody closer to kick off.
“But those injuries weren’t long term and we’ll just look at everybody in training over the next couple of days and pick the team we feel is right to get the result at Shrewsbury.”

Jack Marriott update ahead of Shrewsbury Town vs Wrexham
Another key star the Welsh outfit have been without for some time is Jack Marriott.
Marriott broke his leg in October and was given a four-month lay-off period at the time, which would keep him out until mid-February.
Now though, Parkinson has provided an update on the Wrexham striker this week, confirming he’s back training and looking sharp.
He said: “It’s been a huge bonus getting Jack Marriott on the training pitch this week – he’s looking really sharp.
“When I say on the training pitch that’s in full training and for the last two weeks he’s been working hard. He’s had a mini pre-season and he’s looking fit. He’s been knocking on the door saying ‘come on, I’m ready’. That’s great for us because he had a terrific start to the season.”
