Wrexham are looking to improve their Championship performances by partnering with Hawk Eye Innovations.

The Red Dragons are now competing in the second tier of English football for the first time since 1982.

Wrexham lost to QPR over the weekend and are now 21st in the Championship with one win in five.

Wrexham partner with Hawk Eye Innovations

As expected, the step up in level has proven difficult for the Welsh powerhouse so far.

A number of their summer signings are yet to get up to speed, and fans will be hoping that once they do, wins will start to follow.

As part of their plans to be competitive in the Championship, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have allowed the club to agree a deal with Hawk Eye Innovations, as per Inside World Football.

Hawk Eye have installed their SkeleTRACK Electronic Performance and Tracking System at the Racecourse Ground.

This will allow the club to monitor ball movement and receive data feeds to use in their live and post-match analysis.

Hawk Eye’s SMART Video Review System will also allow coaches to review passages of play instantly and provide feedback to Parkinson.

On the partnership, the Managing Director of Football at Hawk Eye, said: “We’re proud to embark on this journey with Wrexham AFC, as they undertake their Championship campaign, following their third consecutive promotion.

“Our SkeleTRACK technology already supports many leagues and federations across officiating, performance and fan engagement and we couldn’t be more excited to bring that expertise to a forward-thinking club like Wrexham AFC.”

When Wrexham want to reach the Premier League

While promotion is not expected this season, expectations in North Wales are high.

Wrexham want to reach the Premier League by 2027, giving the club just two seasons to achieve that goal.

Already in 2025/26, a potential promotion, even via the play-offs, seems somewhat unlikely.

The competition in the second tier is much more fierce due to the teams dropping down from the Premier League with top quality players and parachute payments.

But even if it is just a small boost, the partnership with Hawk Eye should help Wrexham improve their on-field displays this term.
