Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are keen to sign Phil Parkinson a new forward, and the prospect of bringing in a Premier League star has just become very real after one recent update.
As the 2025/26 Championship season approaches, it has become abruptly clear that Wrexham need to bolster their squad with signings this summer.
Wrexham lost two successive games in their recent pre-season tour, a sign that extra bodies through the door could help Phil Parkinson this season.
Signings are expected across the field, but one area of priority looks set to be in the forward line. Wrexham are willing to spend up to £10m on a striker to fill the void left by the likes of Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher.
Both Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are looking towards Premier League players for inspiration, and the possibility of signing one striker from England’s top tier has become much more real after the latest update.

Wrexham handed Patrick Bamford boost after Leeds United boss makes decision
Wrexham are interested in signing Patrick Bamford this summer as they hope to add proven Championship experience to their forward line.
Whilst it was an ambitious option for the Red Dragons to target, it has just become very much more realistic after Leeds United boss Daniel Farke confirmed, per Graham Smyth on X, that Bamford would not be part of his plans for the upcoming Championship season.
Bamford, 31, has an England cap to his name after impressing massively under former boss Marcelo Bielsa in the 2020/21 season. Unfortunately, the Leeds man struggled in his previous campaign, having been unable to find the back of the net in only 235 minutes for his side in 2024/25.

Phil Parkinson could get Patrick Bamford back to his best
Whilst last season was a write-off for Patrick Bamford, having been given minimal chances by Daniel Farke, there is every bit of confidence that Phil Parkinson could get the Leeds United star back to his best.
Only in the 2023/24 season, Bamford shone, scoring eight goals despite continuing as a bench player. It would be likely that, if Bamford’s role as a starting striker was reinstated, he could find form once again.
At just 31 years old, he still has plenty to offer, especially if Parkinson can regain his confidence. Wrexham have found their proven goalscorer in the Championship, and Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac need to pursue the deal with no hesitation.
