Wrexham players are getting used to the fame and popularity that now comes with playing for the club.
The latest season of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ concluded with a magnificent episode charting the club’s promotion from League One and drew in more fans from around the globe.
Rob McElhenney was asked to deliver a speech to the Wrexham squad before their pivotal promotion decider with Charlton by manager Phil Parkinson – it was a roaring success.
Ryan Reynolds praised McElhenney’s speech and whilst most of the Wrexham players are used to the Hollywood owners springing a surprise or two for the club, one star has just been given a ‘surreal’ moment.

Ryan Hardie explains ‘surreal’ contact from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
One player getting used to the hands-on approach from the Wrexham owners is new signing Ryan Hardie having just arrived from Plymouth Argyle.
Hardie is looking forward to playing at Wrexham and has revealed ‘surreal’ moments since joining Racecourse Ground involving both Reynolds and McElhenney.
Speaking to the Leader, Hardie stated: “I had a phone call off Ryan and a text from Rob so it was a bit surreal to hear from those types of people,

“But going into the club, I heard about the way that it’s run and the owners like to be involved so I have spoken to them,
“They are really part of the club. Obviously they have helped make the club successful so far and what you say about the club and the community, from what I have seen from the outside, it looks very good.”
Ryan Hardie ready to fight for his Wrexham place
Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan but despite his departure, Parkinson still currently has six strikers to choose from next season.
Wrexham’s new signing is ready for the challenge and has welcomed competition, Hardie explained: “That’s how every club is successful,
“You have got to have people fighting for positions and that is something that the manager is big on. He says there it is going to be people fighting for the jersey and I am ready for it. I am looking forward to meeting my teammates, the management staff and everyone at the club.”

Ollie Palmer has been told he can leave Wrexham, whilst it is expected that Modou Faal will depart on loan this summer.
