Wrexham decided to let three forwards leave the club on transfer deadline day as Modou Faal arrived at the STōK Cae Ras.
Transfer deadline day feels like an age ago but it’s not even two months since Wrexham’s attacking ranks were given a real shake-up.
Wrexham decided to bring in an ew striker as Gambian forward Modou Faal completed a permanent move from West Bromwich Albion.
As Faal arrived, Wrexham allowed three forwards to leave the club on loan.
Jake Bickerstaff joined Altrincham Town but has lacked minutes with the National League side whilst Billy Waters rejoined Halifax Town as Wrexham resurrected last-gasp deal.
The other move saw Sam Dalby join Dundee United on loan with first-team minutes unlikely for him in League One.

Sam Dalby on Louis Moult
Dalby’s move to Dundee United has seen him feature alongside a former Wrexham hero.
Louis Moult is one of Dundee United’s top striking options and Dalby is now playing alongside him.
Speaking to The Courier, Dalby has admitted that he and Moult had rather different experiences at Wrexham.
Moult was Wrexham’s star striker long before the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era whereas Dalby has been right in the thick of the ‘Hollywood era’.
Dalby noted that Moult visits Wrexham ‘quite a lot’ in order to watch his former club in action despite leaving way back in 2015.
Dalby added that he is learning a lot from Moult in terms of his ‘very clever’ play in the final third, believing that he can help improve his game.
“I think we’ve had very different experiences,” said Dalby. “But he had nothing but good things to say. He was telling me that he seen me play down there, because he visits quite a lot.
“I can learn so much from Louis. He’s a very clever player. A lot of his positive traits and attributes are mental – he just seems to be one step ahead of everyone else. You know you can pick things up off him and try to implement that into your game.
“If someone’s just quicker than you, for example, you can never replicate that. But when it’s all upstairs, you can try and use those clever movements and clever touches to bring into your game,” he added.
Louis Moult rebuilding his career
Moult arrived at the STōK Cae Ras back in 2014, following his former Nuneaton Town boss Kevin Wilkin to Wrexham.
The striker only spent one season at Wrexham but scored 23 times in 51 games to earn himself a move to Motherwell.
The goals continued to flow as Moult scored 50 goals in 98 games, sparking a move back to English football with Preston North End.
Moult sadly encountered injury problems at Deepdale and those continued after signing for Burton Albion in 2021.
Joining Dundee United in 2023 really helps Moult get back on track and he has now smashed 23 goals in 51 appearances for the club.
Moult is certainly the kind of striker Dalby can learn from in Scotland and Wrexham fans will hope to see them thrive together in Scotland.
