An old prediction made by Shaun Harvey has come to light this week, and he has been proven right.
When Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac decided to buy Wrexham, they enlisted the help of Shaun Harvey.
Harvey played a crucial role in the club’s early success when they were still in the National League, helping the Red Dragons secure some huge deals.
Among those were the free transfer of Paul Mullin from Cambridge United and a club-record deal for Ollie Palmer.
Over four years on from the takeover, much has changed at the Racecourse Ground thanks to Wrexham’s rapid rise.

Shaun Harvey’s Wrexham prediction was right
Wrexham are the first team ever to start in the fifth tier or higher and win three promotions in a row.
While it’s an amazing achievement, their rise has been fast and the club have had to make big changes to their squad in a short amount of time.
This has included Palmer’s contract being terminated over the summer and Mullin being sent out on loan.
Now, Welcome to Wrexham star Wayne Jones has been discussing the rapid changes to the squad and revealed what Harvey told him two years ago about there being an overlap in players from the National League and League Two days still being at the club in the Championship.
He said: “We’re in that phase now where we just need to, I remember speaking to Shaun Harvey just quickly about two years ago and he, because he’s very astute, and he sort of…
“So two things. One I don’t think the club expected to be in the Championship this quick and two, Shaun Harvey once said to me that there’s going to come a time where to get these players your Mullins, your Palmers, your Elliot Lees to come down to League Two for example or National League there’s going to be a time where we might have a year where we have an overlap where to get these players to come, you’re going to put them on three-year contracts.
“If we’re very successful and push up the leagues like we have done, which I don’t think we were expecting, we’re going to have a huge overhaul in the Championship and there’s going to be players on.
“So, we’ve had to loan Mullin out. We’ve had to terminate Ollie Palmer’s contract, which probably wouldn’t have come cheap. We’ve got probably six or seven, maybe eight players out on loan just to get the wages off the bill because we knew there was going to come a time that if we’re successful, that overlap would have happened.”

Wrexham still need to make changes
At present, Tom O’Connor, Jacob Mendy, Mullin, Jake Bickerstaff, Sebastian Revan and Modou Faal are all out on loan.
Barring maybe Revan and potentially Faal due to his age, all of those players are unlikely to have a future at the club if Wrexham can stay in the Championship.
It means we will likely see a lot more permanent exits in the 2026 summer transfer window.
As well as the on-loan stars, there are several players in the current team who have fallen far down the pecking order.
Elliot Lee, who has been part of all three promotions, is yet to make an appearance in the Championship.
Andy Cannon, who has been hampered by injury, is another previously key star who, once he returns, is unlikely to get back into the team.
