How Paul Mullin rates vs every Wrexham striker in 25/26, six-figure signing is struggling

Wrexham have overhauled their striker department in 2025, which meant an exit for club icon Paul Mullin.

Wrexham spent the first half of the 2024/25 season unable to find a consistent goalscorer.

Jack Marriott started the campaign well but was quickly injured, while Steven Fletcher was good off the bench but could not complete 90 minutes.

In turn, Phil Parkinson opted to sign Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith in the January transfer window, dropping Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer in the process.

Mullin has now joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan deal from Wrexham.

Here is how the 30-year-old rates compared to all of the Dragons’ strikers who have played a game in 2025/26 so far.

How Paul Mullin rates vs Wrexham strikers

After Smith and Rodriguez, Wrexham added another four attackers to their ranks in the summer transfer window.

Kieffer Moore joined from Sheffield United in a £2m deal and is now Wrexham’s top scorer this season.

Nathan Broadhead arrived in a new club-record transfer from Ipswich Town.

Josh Windass signed on a free transfer after having his Sheffield Wednesday contract terminated over the summer.

Elsewhere, Wrexham paid £700,000 for Ryan Hardie, who had a clause in his Plymouth Argyle contract that meant he could move for a reduced fee.

As expected, Moore is the highest-rated Wrexham player this season, according to WhoScored.

Meanwhile, Hardie is the second-lowest-rated behind centre-back Dan Scarr.

When can Paul Mullin return to Wrexham

Mullin rates higher than most Wrexham forwards this season, apart from Windass and Moore.

He is, of course, playing in a division lower, but his form has improved a great deal in 2025/26.

The Englishman already has two League One goals for the Latics this term, having netted just three in the competition last season.

Mullin could return to Wrexham in January if the club opts to recall him from his loan spell.

That seems unlikely, with it instead expected he will move back to the Racecourse at the end of 2025/26 when he will have a year left on his contract.
