It has now been officially confirmed that Ollie Palmer has left Wrexham following three and a half years with the club.

The 33-year-old has finally secured a move away from the Racecourse Ground following a summer of speculation.

Ollie Palmer lost his Wrexham place in early 2025 after the arrivals of Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith.

Phil Parkinson explained why Palmer was axed when speaking during the latest season of Welcome to Wrexham.

The player has featured for the Dragons in 2025/26, scoring twice against Hull City. However, he was left out against Preston North End earlier this week amid increasing speculation around his future.

Ollie Palmer officially leaves Wrexham

A number of clubs wanted the Wrexham striker during the summer transfer window.

But it emerged on Thursday that Palmer was signing for Swindon Town, and an official statement has now been made confirming the transfer.

The official statement from the League Two side on their website stated: “Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of striker Ollie Palmer on a two-year contract, subject to EFL approval.

“The 33-year-old frontman makes the move to the County Ground after a successful spell in North Wales, where he played a key role in Wrexham’s promotion-winning campaign and contributed with vital goals across his time at the Racecourse Ground.

“Standing at 6ft 5in, Palmer is known for his physicality, aerial threat, and ability to bring others into play, making him a constant presence for opposition defenders. Over a career spanning more than a decade, he has represented clubs including Mansfield Town, Leyton Orient, Lincoln City, Crawley Town, AFC Wimbledon, and, most recently, Wrexham, amassing over 500 career appearances.”

When first revealing the deal, Swindon decided to have a bit of fun with the announcement, giving a nod to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac with a Disney+ video.

Palmer joined Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon during the 2022 January transfer window.

He was signed as a partner for Paul Mullin, and the duo instantly formed a deadly connection.

Palmer found the back of the net an impressive 15 times in 21 National League matches during his first half-season at the club.

The London-born ace went on to play a starring role in Wrexham’s rise out of the fifth tier up to League One.

In total, Palmer scored 44 goals, provided six assists and made 150 appearances for the Dragons.
