Wrexham director, Shaun Harvey has now opened up about showing Wrexham games in America for free. This could expose the Reds to an even wider audience once again.
The growth of Wrexham has been clear for everybody to see in the past few years. The introduction of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has worked wonders for the Reds.
Their impact paired with the on-field work of Phil Parkinson, which has seen promotion from the National League secured.
Now they are sitting pretty in League Two as they occupy second place and are hopeful of yet another promotion.
With the addition of the temporary Kop stand the attendance at The Racecourse has gone through the roof and broken records.
This has seen Parkinson say: “There are always people coming to see Wrexham for the first time; they have maybe struggled to get tickets at The Racecourse so they come and watch us in away games. It’s great.”
It is clear that this is a delight for the Reds manager. Now Shaun Harvey has made a statement that could improve global audiences.

Shaun Harvey on American coverage
Thanks to the production of ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ there have been plenty of additional eyes on the club in recent years.
With the series winning five Emmys in recent weeks, it is safe to say that the Reds are well-known on a global scale.
This has seen more people wanting to watch Wrexham’s games on a weekly basis. This is despite them being expensive or impossible to watch in certain countries.
Speaking to World Soccer Talk, Shaun Harvey has now made a suggestion which could improve fans’ experiences abroad.
On that, he said: “I personally would love to see Wrexham games free-to-air in the U.S. every single week. Whilst that could have a significant financial negative impact on our P&L (profit and loss statement).
“Actually as long as it’s readily available and easily accessible, we’d probably take our chance that we would generate more by creating a bigger fan base than we would on revenue from individual subscribers.”
It is true that with plenty of additional viewers from the states, sales of things like shirts and other merchandise may skyrocket. Combine this with fans travelling from overseas on a regular basis to The Racecourse to watch games in person.
There is plenty of positivity going around Wrexham right now and this proposition from Harvey has only added to that.
