Ryan Reynolds and fellow Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney have inspired a number of American celebrities to invest in football clubs it seems.
Ryan Reynolds purchased Wrexham in February 2021 alongside Always Sunny star and writer, Rob McElhenney.
The pair have had tremendous success with the Welsh outfit, taking them from the National League to League One.
The club’s profile has been raised massively thanks to the ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ documentary on Disney+.
The pair’s success has seemingly caught the eye of a number of their American celebrity friends of late.
NFL legend Tom Brady is now competing against Wrexham with Birmingham City, with his side currently top of the League One table and four points clear of the Red Dragons with a game in hand.
Elsewhere, former NFL superstar J.J. Watt has invested in Burnley and A$AP Rocky wants to invest in Tranmere Rovers.

Snoop Dogg inspired by Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds
Now, another major American name could be set to invest in a UK club, in part due to the success of Reynolds at Wrexham.
As quoted by the Daily Mail, Snoop Dog has recently detailed his desire to invest in Scottish powerhouse Celtic amid love for their fans.
When discussing a potential Celtic investment, the rapper named-dropped Wrexham co-owner and star of Deadpool Reynolds.
He said: “I love what Ryan has done with Wrexham – it’s just a great story.
“Investing in a sports team has been something I have been looking at for a long time – if the chance came to invest in Celtic, I would be crazy not to take a look at it.
“I have watched so much soccer in Europe but I have never seen fans like the Celtic fans. There is something so special about them.
“There is a reason why their fans are talked about across Europe – the best players and coaches in the world tell you there is nowhere like Celtic Park and I want to be a part of that. Their mascot is a hound – you couldn’t make that up. Snoop Dogg becomes Hoopy the Hound – that’s gotta be a match made in heaven. The headlines write themselves.”

UK fans should be wary of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Wrexham story
There is no doubting Ryan and Rob both share a deep love for Wrexham and clearly bought into the club for the right reasons.
They have served the Red Dragons well and deserve a lot of credit for the work they have done on and off the field.
However, fans need to be wary of more stars investing in UK football teams in the future.
While the Wrexham owners have worked wonders, some celebrities may simply choose to invest in clubs in order to raise their own profile, rather than because they want to help the team succeed.
