Phil Parkinson is looking to deliver a first Championship victory at the Racecourse this season for Wrexham when Derby County visit this weekend.
Wrexham could end their 45-year wait for a victory over the Rams when they host them this weekend in the second tier.
Phil Parkinson will have a personal incentive of securing a victory over Derby, as he has only managed to defeat them twice across the eight matches he has faced them in as a manager.
The Red Dragons may take some confidence from the fact that a Jurgen Klopp favourite, Rhian Brewster, will be unavailable for Derby.
However, for them to earn a win, it is imperative the Welsh club address one glaring issue ahead of their upcoming Championship fixture.
Wrexham are the Championship club who have faced the most shots
The defensive frailties of the Red Dragons have been seen as the biggest reason as to why they have struggled at the start of this Championship campaign; now the stats can back that up.
Parkinson may have a grimace on his face when he sees that Wrexham have faced 115 shots in their opening six fixtures of the second tier this campaign and have a higher xG against them, 14.9, than any other club in the division, per Opta.
This will need addressing for the weekend, as it is unlikely that they will get many opportunities in front of Derby’s goal, so they will have to limit the chances they offer John Eustace’s side.
Nevertheless they should be helped by the fact the Rams have had the fewest shots (42) and the lowest xG (4.5) of any side this term in the Championship.

Derby County’s recent away form will strike fear in Wrexham
Wrexham will have to overcome a side that are in form on the road recently to earn their first victory at the Racecourse in the second tier for 43 years.
The Rams have lost just one of their last six away league games, as they have won three and drawn two, with their only defeat coming on the opening day of this season at Stoke City.
Parkinson’s side will be desperate to end their poor run at home this season, having lost two and drawn one of their opening three league fixtures.
He may turn to the fact that this is as many defeats as they suffered at home under him in their last 27 fixtures, as Wrexham look to rediscover that form that helped them earn promotion to the Championship as they aim to climb away from the relegation zone sooner rather than later.
