For the first time since the second tier was rebranded as the Championship, Wrexham will feature in the division on Saturday, taking on Southampton.
Wrexham will play the Saints in a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday, August 9, at St Mary’s.
The Red Dragons have several injury concerns going into the match, which Phil Parkinson has commented on this week.
The Saints have injury problems of their own, though, and Southampton fans are not confident going into the campaign.
However, they were still a Premier League club last season and have been earmarked as favourites for the match.

Supercomputer predicts Southampton vs Wrexham
One Sky Sports pundit has backed Southampton to beat Wrexham this weekend.
And Opta’s supercomputer has now predicted the result of the game on the south coast.
Opta have already said that Wrexham will struggle in the Championship, backing them for a 21st-place finish, which is just one spot above the relegation zone.
Now, they have provided a run-down of every gameweek 1 second-tier side and how likely each team are to win.
It’s not good news for the Welsh outfit, however, with Opta giving Southampton a 62.8 percent chance of securing three points on Saturday.
Wrexham, meanwhile, have just a 17.5 percent chance of picking up a win in gameweek 1 of the season.
Of all 24 teams in action, that is the second-lowest chance of winning their opening game.
Only Sheffield Wednesday, who have been placed under multiple embargoes, lost several key players and have been unable to make a signing, have a lower chance of winning (17.4 percent).

Southampton vs Wrexham head-to-head record
Southampton and Wrexham first faced off in 1958, with the latter securing a 2-1 win.
The Saints have had the better of the fixture over the years, winning four compared to the Dragons’ three victories.
Unsurprisingly, given the Welsh side’s woes in the last few decades, the two clubs have not faced off since 1979.
That fixture came in the League Cup and saw Southampton come away with a 3-0 win.
