Wrexham have seen their finances improve a great deal under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
When Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the Reds, they were stuck in the National League and struggling financially.
It was tough for the club’s Supporters Trust to pay wages, and Wrexham had virtually no money to spend on players.
Fast forward four years, and the Welsh outfit are one of the most well-run clubs in the EFL.
Wrexham made history when they released their accounts for the 2023/24 season, posting the highest turnover of any team in League Two ever – £26.75m.
However, as they continue their rise up the EFL ladder, more and more will have to be paid out by their owners.
Wrexham were slammed for their £11m wage bill that was revealed in their last accounts, though it’s worth pointing out that figure covered every employee at the club, not just players.

How much every Paul Mullin League One goal has cost Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
Elsewhere, in an interesting interview late last month, Humphrey Ker suggested Wrexham must quadruple their wage budget if and when they reach the Championship.
That could see the Hollywood-backed side paying out over £40m on wages across the 2025/26 campaign.
While they are not spending quite as much this term, Wrexham are still paying sizable sums to a number of their players.
One of those is Paul Mullin, who is currently under contract at the Racecourse Ground until 2027.
According to Salary Sport, Mullin is earning £5,800-a-week at Wrexham.
Since the 2024/25 season began for the Reds on August 10 versus Wycombe Wanderers, 33 weeks have passed.
As a result, Mullin has earned himself £191,400. Meanwhile, he’s scored just three League One goals, which works out at £63,800 per goal scored in 2024/25.

Who is the highest-paid Wrexham player
While Mullin is one of the higher earners at the club, as he should be given his previously insane goalsocring record, he is not number one.
Wrexham are paying Jay Rodriguez £15,000-a-week since his January transfer from Burnley.
Meanwhile, the likes of George Evans and James McClean are reported to take home more than Mullin.
