Wrexham completed the signing of Modou Faal from West Brom on transfer deadline day as Phil Parkinson finally signed a striker.
Faal became Wrexham’s eighth signing of the summer after completing his move from West Brom, penning a three-year contract at the Racecourse Ground.
The 21-year-old is the long-term successor to Ollie Palmer and Steven Fletcher as a partner for Paul Mullin and will be looking to replicate his scoring form last term.
While on loan at Doncaster and Walsall, Faal plundered 15 goals in all competitions, with the Gambian now eager to step up to the plate in League One.
Phil Parkinson was, of course, delighted to get the powerful youngster through the door and so was new teammate Sebastian Revan, who left a message for him after joining.

Sebastian Revan and others react to Modou Faal signing for Wrexham
For Faal, who joined West Brom in 2019, the 6 foot 4 striker needed to move on from the Baggies as first-team football looked unlikely.
He’s only made three senior appearances at the Hawthorns, scoring once; the only goal in a 2-1 defeat against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.
After departing the Midlands, some of his former teammates responded to his Instagram post as the striker wrote: “Delighted to be a a part of this club and the journey. Can’t wait to get started and lock in with the culture. Let’s Rock”
One of those players was Conor Townsend, now of Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town, who replied: “Congrats mate! Go smash it.
Lewis Dobbin, currently on loan at the Baggies, also put: “Good luck bro”
While central defender Cedric Kipre responded: “Lets goooo”.
They weren’t the only players to message Faal after sealing his transfer as Seb Revan, an arrival from Aston Villa, replied with three fire emojis.
Seb Revan will love playing with Mo Faal
Revan has been one of Wrexham’s most impressive signings since joining earlier this summer.
The 21-year-old has flourished either as a left wing-back or right wing-back, scoring on his first start in a 4-2 defeat against Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup.
He was also integral to Wrexham earning a point against Bolton Wanderers, with the youngest showcasing his defensive solidity and attacking potential.
Faal – who thrives from receiving ammunition into the box – will thrive in the same starting eleven with Revan, who uses his electric pace and power to dart down the wing and put crosses into the box.
When picked to start, you can be certain that the former Aston Villa man will be looking for the presence of Faal in the box.
