The current crop of Wrexham players, plus those behind the scenes, will be heralded for years to come as legends of the game, but are they getting an open-top bus parade to celebrate their latest success?
Wrexham have defied the odds this year to secure another promotion, and will be heading to the Championship next season to mix things up in the second tier.
They may be some distance behind champions Birmingham City, but Wrexham’s historic third-successive promotion is still a big deal.
Phil Parkinson and his players have been lavished with praise — aside from the odd jealous comment from rival fans — but supporters are now eager to know whether they need to book a day off work to watch their heroes parade through the streets of Wrexham.

What the Mayor has said about Wrexham’s promotion success
In the wake of Wrexham’s promotion being confirmed last weekend, the players, coaches, and high profile owners have been praised by influential figures in the city.
Speaking to Wrexham.com, the Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Beryl Blackmore said: “What a fantastic moment.
“Wrexham has been on an incredible journey over the past few years, and I would like to thank the owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds for their commitment to both the club and our city.
“Their hard work and vision – along with the commitment of the manager, staff, players and fans – has paid off, and to achieve promotion for the third year on the trot is amazing.”
In addition, Councillor Mark Pritchard, Leader of Wrexham Council, said: “What the football club has achieved is absolutely incredible, and this is such an important moment for the club, and for the city as a whole.
“Success on the pitch lifts the entire community, and this amazing journey that the club is on continues to give Wrexham renewed confidence.”

Will Wrexham get a promotion parade this year?
Wrexham may not have won the League One title, but they did get a trophy at the weekend for finishing second. The success also sees the Red Dragons return to the second tier for the first time in 43 years.
So, surely there’ll be a parade then? Well, it’s not as simple as that. Indeed, last year, when Wrexham finished second in League Two, there was no open-top parade arranged.
There was, however, one put together for the National League-winning campaign in 2022, though that was a different matter given the fact Wrexham actually won the title.
Whether Wrexham Council will deem this latest promotion worthy of a parade remains to be seen, though given the nature of the success, we’d say there’s a good chance it goes ahead this year.
