Wrexham loaned Sam Dalby to Scottish side Dundee United during the 2024 summer transfer window.
The Red Dragons were in the market for a new striker over the summer and eventually settled on Modou Faal.
Wrexham paid West Bromwich Albion a club-record £590,000 for the centre-forward, leaving them with too many forward options.
In turn, Sam Dalby made the move up to Scotland, signing for Dundee United on a season-long loan deal.
The 24-year-old scored 12 and assisted 13 during his stint at the Racecourse Ground but was pushed firmly down the pecking order ahead of 2024/25.
Ahead of his loan move, Wrexham striker Steven Fletcher offered Dalby advice and it’s seemingly paid off.

Sam Dalby has given Wrexham and Phil Parkinson big dilemma
Dalby took some time to get up to speed in Scotland but has been in superb form of late.
The striker has now scored five goals in his last seven league games this season, earning himself an award in the process.
After being named Scottish Premiership Player of the Month, Dalby told Dundee’s official website: “I’m honoured to receive such a prestigious award.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time at Dundee United, and am delighted I have been able to contribute with a few goals. It’s exactly what I wanted from this loan spell.”
While fans will probably be pleased to see one of their players doing so well out on loan, the 24-year-old has handed Phil Parkinson something of a dilemma.
Dalby’s five goals in 2024/25 are the same total he matched across all of the previous season and the exact same number as Wrexham’s current top, Jack Marriott.
But the London-born player is out of contract in Wales next year and Parkinson must now decide whether or not to renew his deal.
It would have been a fairly easy decision to make had Dalby not continued to perform, but his form for Dundee United could see Wrexham rethink their stance.

Dundee United transfer stance on Sam Dalby already clear
While Dalby’s future at Wrexham remains up in the air for the time being, Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin has made his stance on a future transfer clear.
Speaking late last month, Goodwin stated he wanted to sign Dalby once his deal with the Red Dragons is up.
He said: “Sam is a player that we really like, and we would love to enter into negotiations about extending his time here at United because he’s coming out of contract at Wrexham in the summer.
“Sam has done everything that I expected from him and he’s loving it here. I spoke to his agent after the game on Saturday and he’s speaking very positively about the whole set-up here at Dundee United, which is great. Five goals in six games is a great return for someone who had to be patient at the beginning. I think he has more to come. He’s at a great age and the Scottish game really suits him.”
