Wigan Athletic signed Paul Mullin on loan from Wrexham during the 2025 summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old has joined on a season-long loan deal, and the opinion of his performances so far has been mixed.
Paul Mullin was praised by fans after scoring his first goal away from Wrexham versus Notts County in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
However, just a few games later, Wigan supporters were concerned about Mullin after his performance against Luton Town.
So far, the Wrexham loanee has been in and out of the starting line-up under manager Ryan Lowe.
Mullin scored in League One for the first time since January when the Latics took on Rotherham United on August 23.
Now, several Wigan experts have had their say on the striker’s arrival.

Wigan experts given Paul Mullin transfer verdict
The centre-forward fell out of favour under Phil Parkinson during the second half of last season.
Mullin scored three goals in League One when Wrexham won promotion before he was dropped from the squad completely.
Despite not being deemed good enough to play regularly in the third tier by Parkinson, three Wigan experts have now shared positive verdicts on his transfer and form so far.
Wigan Today spoke to their ‘Latics experts’ about the club’s transfer business, with three commenting on Mullin.
Billy H said: “The first half of our transfer window seemed to be ticking all the boxes in the type of player and positions we needed to fill, some good solid signings in Saydee, Costelloe, Mullin and Fox.”
Martin Lally stated: “With the arrivals of Christian Saydee, Paul Mullin and Dara Costello, I honestly believe we will score a multitude of goals this season, and they will all have critical spells.”
Matt Auffrey said: “Dara Costelloe and Paul Mullin have both created a wealth of scoring chances which should, hopefully, result in more consistent goals between the pair.”

How much do Wrexham pay Paul Mullin
As mentioned, the attacker has not left Wrexham permanently and will return at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Details of Mullin’s loan move were shared shortly after it was finalised, revealing he can be recalled in January and there is no option to buy.
It was also reported that Wigan and Wrexham are going halves on Mullin’s wages this season.
In turn, both clubs are handing over £2,400-a-week to the striker, who earns £5,800-a-week.
